Portfolio Shoot with Sonia

Sonia and I found some time this weekend to get out and make some new photos at last, it seems like forever since we had a free day at the weekend together but eventually these rarities do come along!

Sonia has been practicing her makeup and hair for a bit and wanted to try this emo look out so I went with a couple of bare flashes to give an edgy hard lit kind of lighting style to complement it. It’s not obvious from the pictures but it was about 1pm when we were taking these shots outside – good for us it was a completely overcast day but without any rain. I experimented by using my polarising filter to knock the ambient light levels down a bit more so that I could open up the aperture as far as possible to get the depth of field I wanted. All these shots were taken between F4 and about 7.1.
