The next stop on our Western Australia adventure was The Pinnacles Desert.
These wonders of nature have been gradually emerging from the land over centuries as the winds blow the sand away from around them grain by grain. The nearby visitor center tells us that scientists are not quite sure how exactly these calcite formations came to be, so I won’t offer any conjecture here. I will just leave the words to a minimum and let the photographs take you through the highlights of the two evenings we spent here.
This desert is by far the most surreal and wonderful place I have ever visited and we were treated to two of the most magical sunsets I’ve ever witnessed whilst we were there – my rational mind tells me this is coincidence but I am more than happy to leave a little room for the idea that it is literally a magical place where wondrous scenes like this unfold every evening.
