July 2nd, 2009 My photographs around the web
After a little digging and probing I was surprised to find how many of my photo’s have actually been used on peoples own web sites and blogs. I thought it might be fun to make a note of some of the more interesting ones and list them here on my own blog.
It has to be said that my shot of a ford mustang on felixstowe beach has pretty much been the star of my photostream so far, partially due to the photographic qualities of the image but mainly due to the awesomeness of the car itself – but some others of mine have also been popping up too. Anway, here are some of my favourite credits:
Ford Mustang in use:
Mustang Muscle Cars blog – A decent blog with a load of info about mustangs and a bunch of photos of really nice examples. I’m quite proud of this one as they are using my image in their site banner.
The Takeaway – A news web site collaboration between the BBC world service, WNYC Radio, the New York Times and WGBH Bostong. This site uses my mustang image in their article titled “Ford CEO Alan Mullaly joins The Takeaway”. Pretty cool stuff!
Anywired.com – A set of articles on this self-employment tips blog with the title “Under the hood”
Heute.at – Another application of my Mustang shot, this time on what I’m guessing is an Austrian web site. I have absolutely no idea what this article is about!
HappinessIsBetter.com - Interview: FairRepair.com
Quazen.com - 10 sexy and durable cars. Nice usage of my image in this interesting and fact-filled blog post
Some of my other photographs being used around the web:
Digital Photography School – I was extremely happy when I noticed that a how-i-did-it thread I had written in the forums section of this awesome photography web site was picked up and featured on the main site by the editor and founder of the site.
The life experimenter – The author of this interesting blog used one of my Felixstowe sunrise shots in his article “Life Experiment #1: Wake-Up At 5AM For 30 Days”. There is some food for thought in this article and its doubly cool that he’s using my picture.
WillItChangeYou.com - A conceptual use of one of my long exposure shots of Felixstowe pier on an article on this self-help web site.
Real Estate Blog – Nine articles you should read before you sell your home. Another application of my long exposure pier shot.
Vacations Zone - This holiday blog has used one of my shots for an article about my partner Sonia’s home town of Piestany, Slovakia. Bit disappointed they have cropped it so much and lost some resolution, but still cool never-the-less.
GNM Parents – This blogger has used my Lucisart/Hotrod picture in a funny post about their 17 year old son asking them permission to buy a 1921 Model T Ford.
clickblog.it – This Italian web site appears to have translated one of my tutorials on recovering under-exposed shots… However not speaking Italian myself, this article could be describing what a load of crap my tutorial is for all I know. Still, if it caused a reaction of any kind then I’m happy with that.
fotographiad.com – I will go as far as to commit to this one definitely being a translation of my recovery of under-exposed shots tutorial. No Idea what language into this time though.
tr3ndy.com – Someone here has used a couple of my tilt-shift fakes in what appears to be a tutorial in an unidentified foreign language.
Digital Artist Toolbox – Another couple of my shots placed in an article titled “41 Amazing Tilt-shift miniature faking photographs”
Alcoholism Facts – Another apparantly conceptual use of my pier shot for this hard hitting article.
Felixstowe Clearance Company – This company kindly asked my permission to use a photo of mine of Felixstowe docks at night time for their web site. Turns out they liked it enough to make it the main banner for their site.
